Doctorate in Applied Organizational Psychology

Hofstra University’s PhD in Applied Organizational Psychology is the only doctoral program in applied organizational psychology on Long Island preparing you for a career in academia, business, industry, government, and other private and public domains. Internships provide practical hands-on experience applying scientific methods to solve problems related to individuals and groups at organizations in the New York City metropolitan area. Your dissertation research may be conducted in the lab, the field, or both. On average, this full-time PhD program takes three years to complete.

Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational (IO) Psychology

Hofstra's Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational (IO) Psychology prepares students for careers in such areas as human resources, training, management, and organization development, in which they can apply psychological principles to problems that arise in a wide variety of organization settings. It is also designed to enhance the careers of professionals who work in these areas by teaching them to apply psychology to issues that develop in their organizations.

Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy

Qualify for licensure in New York state and jump-start your career as a counseling professional with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). This 54-credit degree program features dynamic, practice-based courses led by dedicated faculty who are with you every step of the way. Gain the skills necessary to work with couples and families to explore and improve conflict resolution in their relationships. You’ll receive intensive academic and clinical training through your classes and an integrated internship that’s completed at the on-campus Counseling and Mental Health Professions Clinic. Courses for the marriage and family therapy master’s program are offered during fall and spring semesters, as well as three summer sessions and a January session.
